Piaggio Vehicles To Enter The Philippines With Ape Electrik Vehicles

Piaggio Vehicles announced that their Ape Electrik vehicles will be entering the Philippines. The electric three-wheelers will be made in the OEM’s factory in Baramati in Maharashtra, and then exported to the Philippines.

The company will use the Ape E-City, as well as Ape E-xtra vehicles equipped with the battery-swapping technology of SUN Mobility. These will be the first E3Ws in the Philippines and will be made available by PHILIPPINERIMEX INC., a Rusco Motors’ subsidiary.

Diego Graffi (Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles), stated that the OEM sees huge potential for export to the market. He stated, “In India, we brought the first electric-three wheeler in 2019. Now, in 2023, we will be the first to move into this market in the Philippines. Piaggio Vehicles sees the Philippines as a stepping stone toward accelerating the adoption and sustainability of EVs around the globe.”

Ajay Goel is the Co-Founder and Executive director of SUN Mobility. He said that “We are happy to strengthen our association with Piaggio as well as extend our partnership to the Philippines. We share the same vision of urban electric mobility that is smart, affordable, and sustainable. We are eager to deploy our solution in the Philippines and other parts of the Southeast. Asia.”
