Indian Air Force Inducts 12 Tata Nexon EVs

In an effort to reduce its carbon footprint, and support the Government of India’s green mobility initiative, the IAF, Indian Air Force inducted 12 Tata Nexon EVs.

In the presence of senior officers and staff, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, inducted the fleet into IAF’s Vayu Bhawan headquarters. The first batch will be deployed to the Delhi NCR region, where they will perform performance monitoring and analysis.

An IAF spokesperson stated that the IAF plans to increase the use of electric vehicles by procuring electric vehicles against downgraded traditional vehicles.

The IAF is working already to enhance its electric vehicle ecosystem. It is also planning to install charging infrastructure at different air force bases.

To ensure a uniform inventory, the IAF has already partnered up with the Indian Army to purchase electric buses and cars.
