Bounce E-scooter Launch: Starts at Rs. 45,099 With Battery Swapping Facility

The electric scooter rental startup, Bounce, launches its first electric-powered scooter, designated as Infinity E1, with a battery swapping facility, on Thursday.

The scooter will be available for INR 45,099 (Delhi Ex-Showroom) with a monthly membership of Rs 849 to Battery-as-a-Service and exchange costs of Rs 35 for each swap.

Customers may also buy the scooter with the battery and charger for Rs. 68,999 (Delhi Ex-showroom). The price can be as low as Rs. 59,999 (Gujarat Ex-showroom) depending on the state subsidies.

Customers may purchase the Bounce Infinity E1 without the battery, at a more affordable price range, and use Bounce’s battery swapping network instead. They will be able to switch the batteries from a local exchange station after it is discharged.

This reduces the scooter’s operating expenses significantly, by up to 40% when compared to traditional scooters, according to the firm.

“Our advanced ‘Made in India’ scooter will come equipped with enhanced state-of-the-art equipment and intelligent features. We are glad to announce that we are the first and only ones to provide both options – to swap batteries from our network and charge-at-home – for the Infinity E1,” he said.

The swappable battery has been tested for over 200 million kilometres. Furthermore, the business is progressively involved in establishing a network of swapping stations, for which it is utilizing thousands of petrol stations as well as mom-and-pop shops, Bounce said.

Almost 150 swapping stations have already been placed throughout Bengaluru and has announced plans to establish 3,500+ stations in 10 Indian cities in collaboration with Park+.

The scooter has a digital speedometer, a 12-litre boot, geofencing, cruise control, tow alarm, and a twin-disc brake system. Customers will also have complete visibility into the vehicle’s efficiency and the option to track and remotely lock the scooter.

The Bounce Infinity E1 has a top speed of 65 kmph, an output torque of 83 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 8 seconds.

The battery is waterproof (IP 67) and has a capacity of 48V 39 AH. It charges in 4 to 5 hours and is certified to have a range of 85 kilometres per charge. However, the real range is noted to be around 65 km in Eco mode and 50 km in Power mode.

The scooter comes in 5 colour variants, and its pre-booking has started on 2nd Dec at Rs. 499, and its expected delivery is in March 2022. It will be backed by a three-year, 50,000 km warranty.
