Goa To Have 30% Electric Vehicles By 2025

To boost the adoption of electric autos by 30% by 2025, the Goa government has authorized Goa Electrical Mobility Promotion Coverage (GEMPP), 2021. The target to generate 10000 jobs by 2025 within the sector.

Around 50% of the current vehicles will be converted to electric by 2025. Encouragemnet to start-ups and funding will also be provided for electric mobility. Government will develop world-class infrastructure to convert Inside Combustion Engine (IEC) into electric vehicles.

The plan also includes battery restore, promotion of research and development, developing stations, and innovation in the field of electric vehicles.

Various incentives on buying and scrapping of vehicles, easy loans, waiver on registration charges and highway tax, building charging stations, swappable battery solutions will also be initiated.

3000 two-wheelers, 50 three-wheelers, and 300 four-wheelers will also be subsidized by the federal government for 5 years applicable to passenger vehicles and autos which are compatible with Sturdy Hybrid Autos, Plug-in Hybrid Electrical Autos and Battery Electrical Autos.

Such sustainable initiatives with promotion of vitality conservation, smart-city growth and creation of built-in transport system is important for achieving the goals.
