Billion Electric Mobility (BillionE), an e-Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) provider, has partnered with JK Cement Limited to deploy more than 150 heavy-duty electric trucks during the current financial year, supporting the cement manufacturer’s transition toward zero-emission freight transportation.

The collaboration began with the rollout of the first fleet of 20 heavy-duty electric trucks with a 55-tonne Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) from JK Cement’s Muddapur plant in Karnataka. The vehicles will transport cement to stockyards across Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa, marking one of the region’s largest deployments of electric trucks for cement logistics.

Under the partnership, Billion Electric will provide an integrated eMaaS solution that includes heavy-duty electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, fleet operations, and technology-enabled route management to support long- and mid-haul freight operations.

To enable seamless operations, Billion Electric will utilise ChargeZone’s expanding high-speed charging network along key freight corridors across Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa. Charging infrastructure is being strengthened at strategic locations including Nipani, Satara, Pune, Karad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Goa, Hubli, and Davanagere, creating a reliable charging ecosystem for commercial electric freight movement.

Pushparaj Singh, Group President – Marketing at JK Cement Limited, said the deployment reflects the company’s commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its logistics operations while supporting India’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable transportation.

Sanjeev Kulkarni, CEO of Billion Electric Mobility, said the partnership demonstrates that heavy-duty electric mobility has become a commercially viable solution for freight transportation. He added that the combination of Billion Electric’s integrated eMaaS platform and ChargeZone’s expanding charging infrastructure will enable businesses to confidently transition to electric freight while supporting the development of a scalable zero-emission logistics ecosystem.

According to the companies, the collaboration represents a significant step toward decarbonising India’s commercial freight sector by combining electric vehicle deployment, charging infrastructure, and digital fleet management to accelerate the adoption of sustainable logistics across major freight corridors.
