Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has expanded its entry-level electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the new Reo VYB, priced at an introductory ₹69,499. Designed for young urban commuters and first-time electric vehicle buyers, the scooter aims to offer an affordable and practical mobility solution for daily city travel.
The Reo VYB is powered by a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, known for its enhanced thermal stability and safety. The scooter delivers a top speed of 25 kmph and offers a true riding range of up to 80 km on a single charge, making it suitable for short urban commutes and everyday errands. Ampere claims the battery can support a lifespan of up to 1,00,000 km.
Available in four colour options — Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey, and Aqua Metallic — the scooter features a refreshed design aimed at attracting younger riders. It also offers 24 litres of under-seat storage, providing ample space for carrying daily essentials.
The Reo VYB comes equipped with several convenience and safety features, including a colour LCD digital instrument cluster, keyless start with a premium key fob, front disc brake, and LED lighting at both the front and rear. The scooter is powered by a hub-mounted motor and features telescopic front suspension and a rear damper to enhance ride comfort and handling on city roads.
Commenting on the launch, Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said the company sees growing demand for sustainable and affordable transportation solutions, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities. He noted that the increasing connectivity of smaller cities to India’s EV ecosystem and the rising popularity of low-speed scooters are expected to drive future adoption.
Ampere is backing the Reo VYB with a three-year or 30,000-kilometre warranty and access to more than 400 service touchpoints across India. Customers will also benefit from 12×7 customer support under the Ampere Care programme.
With over 17 years of experience in electric mobility, Ampere continues to strengthen its presence in India’s EV market through products focused on safety, affordability, and everyday practicality. The launch of the Reo VYB further reinforces the company’s commitment to accelerating the transition towards clean and accessible urban mobility.
