Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has set a new benchmark in the country’s automotive market after receiving 12,728 orders for its next-generation VF 8 electric SUV within just eight days of launching its early-bird reservation program.

The company announced that the record-breaking demand was generated between May 27 and June 3 through its online booking platform and nationwide dealership network. According to VinFast, reservations were evenly distributed across northern, central, and southern Vietnam, averaging more than one successful deposit every minute.

The next-generation VF 8, positioned in the premium D-segment SUV category, represents a major evolution of one of VinFast’s flagship electric models. Deliveries of the first batch are expected to begin by the end of July 2026.

Customers who participated in the early reservation campaign received incentives worth VND 51 million, along with financing options that included either a 10% discount on the vehicle’s listed price or a fixed 5% annual interest rate for the first three years. Buyers will also benefit from complimentary charging at V-Green’s nationwide charging network until February 2029.

VinFast attributed the strong response to significant upgrades made across the vehicle’s design, technology, and engineering architecture. Developed under the company’s “Tech Fluid” design philosophy, the new VF 8 features a refined exterior, enhanced cabin ergonomics, and a more advanced technology platform.

One of the most notable improvements is a newly developed electronic and electrical architecture created by VinFast engineers. The platform reduces vehicle weight by up to 600 kilograms compared with the previous generation, improving efficiency and driving performance. The SUV also incorporates Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension technology and an Integrated Thermal Management (ITM) system designed to enhance ride comfort and extend battery life.

The vehicle offers a driving range of nearly 500 kilometers on a full charge under NEDC standards and supports fast charging that can replenish the battery from 10% to 70% in under 30 minutes. Advanced safety technologies are also included as standard features.

Commenting on the achievement, VinFast Global Sales Deputy CEO Duong Thi Thu Trang said the overwhelming demand reflects strong customer confidence in the company’s technological advancements and commitment to meeting evolving market expectations.

The VF 8 remains a cornerstone of VinFast’s transition into a pure-electric automaker. As the company expands its presence across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, the record-setting launch highlights growing consumer interest in VinFast’s next generation of electric mobility solutions.
