Bijliride, an electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem and urban mobility platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Flipkart Minutes, Flipkart’s quick commerce service, to expand electric two-wheeler deployment for last-mile delivery operations across major Indian cities. The collaboration will initially focus on Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune, supporting the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions in the country’s rapidly growing quick commerce sector.
Under the partnership, Bijliride will deploy electric two-wheelers in phases, using a demand-driven fleet management model designed to respond to changing delivery volumes and rider onboarding requirements. Rather than maintaining fixed vehicle allocations, the company will adjust fleet availability according to operational demand, particularly during periods of increased order activity.
The initiative aligns with Flipkart’s broader objective of transitioning to 100% electric mobility by 2030 and will integrate with its existing EV Assist programme, which supports electric vehicle adoption among delivery partners.
Bijliride currently operates a nationwide fleet footprint exceeding 6,000 electric vehicles and provides integrated mobility solutions aimed at improving vehicle availability, operational efficiency and cost competitiveness for commercial delivery operations.
The company’s full-stack EV ecosystem includes flexible vehicle rental plans, battery swapping services, doorstep battery delivery, dedicated fleet maintenance, round-the-clock roadside assistance and telematics-based fleet management technology.
These services are intended to address vehicle downtime, a major operational challenge in the quick commerce industry, where delivery efficiency and vehicle availability directly influence service performance and rider earnings.
Commenting on the partnership, Shivam Sisodiya, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bijliride, highlighted the importance of developing a comprehensive operational ecosystem to support electric mobility adoption in commercial logistics.
He stated that expanding electric two-wheeler deployment requires more than increasing vehicle numbers, emphasising the need for reliable battery infrastructure, maintenance support, accessible rental solutions and efficient fleet operations.
According to Sisodiya, the partnership with Flipkart Minutes is designed to make electric last-mile logistics commercially viable and scalable while creating economic benefits for both delivery platforms and gig workers.
A major focus of the collaboration is reducing operating expenses for delivery partners. Fuel costs represent a significant recurring expense for riders using conventional internal combustion engine two-wheelers, affecting their overall earnings.
Through Bijliride’s asset-light electric vehicle rental model, delivery partners can access electric two-wheelers without making substantial upfront investments in vehicle ownership. The model is expected to reduce operating costs per kilometre while allowing riders to retain a larger share of their daily earnings.
The partnership also includes operational measures to support delivery partners during the festive shopping season, when quick commerce platforms typically experience increased order volumes.
Bijliride and Flipkart Minutes have introduced festive rental benefits and prioritised electric vehicle availability to help delivery partners maximise working hours while minimising disruptions caused by maintenance requirements.
The demand-led deployment strategy is expected to provide additional flexibility in fleet allocation, enabling electric vehicles to be deployed where delivery requirements are highest.
The collaboration comes amid increasing demand for quick commerce services across India’s metropolitan markets, creating opportunities for electric mobility providers to support lower-emission urban logistics.
By combining electric two-wheeler rentals, battery infrastructure, maintenance services and technology-driven fleet management, Bijliride aims to strengthen the operational reliability of electric last-mile delivery networks.
The partnership with Flipkart Minutes reflects the growing integration of electric vehicles into India’s e-commerce and quick commerce logistics ecosystem, supporting efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower delivery costs and accelerate the transition towards zero-tailpipe-emission urban transportation.
