Hyundai and TVS Motor Join Forces to Accelerate Electric Three-Wheeler Mobility in India

Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company have formalized a strategic partnership to develop and commercialize electric three-wheelers (E3Ws), targeting India’s rapidly evolving last-mile mobility segment.

The two companies signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) aimed at creating innovative electric three-wheeler solutions tailored to India’s unique urban and semi-urban transportation needs. The collaboration follows the successful unveiling of a concept model at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor will lead the design and co-development process, leveraging its global research and development capabilities, advanced mobility technologies, and human-centric design philosophy. Meanwhile, TVS Motor will contribute its extensive experience in the three-wheeler segment, including its electric vehicle platform and deep understanding of local customer requirements.

The upcoming E3W is expected to address India’s last-mile connectivity challenges by offering a sustainable, efficient, and accessible mobility solution. It will be engineered to suit local road conditions and urban infrastructure, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to green transportation.
