VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, reported total sales of 7,978 units in May 2026, marking a 7.8% increase from 7,401 units sold during the same month last year.

The growth was driven by strong domestic demand for Eicher-branded commercial vehicles and a significant rise in Volvo truck and bus sales. Of the total units sold in May 2026, Eicher accounted for 7,789 units, while Volvo contributed 189 units.

Eicher-branded trucks and buses registered sales of 7,789 units during the month, up 7.3% from 7,258 units sold in May 2025. The company’s domestic commercial vehicle business remained a key growth driver, with sales rising 9.1% year-on-year to 7,375 units, compared with 6,758 units in the corresponding period last year.

However, VECV’s export performance faced headwinds during the month. Export sales declined 17.2% to 414 units, down from 500 units recorded in May 2025. The drop reflects softer demand in overseas markets despite the company’s overall positive sales momentum.

The Volvo brand delivered the strongest percentage growth within the group. Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses recorded sales of 189 units in May 2026, representing a 32.2% increase over the 143 units sold in May 2025. The strong performance highlights continued demand for premium commercial vehicles and transportation solutions.

VECV’s latest sales figures underscore the resilience of the domestic commercial vehicle market, with growing infrastructure activity, logistics demand, and fleet replacement cycles supporting volumes. While export challenges persisted, robust domestic sales and strong growth in the Volvo segment helped the company maintain an upward trajectory.

The May performance reinforces VECV’s position as one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, leveraging the strengths of both the Eicher and Volvo brands to cater to diverse market segments across the country and abroad.
