The fully electric MINI Cooper has been recognised as the safest vehicle in its class, winning the prestigious Euro NCAP “Best in Class for Safest City & Supermini of the Year 2025” award. The accolade further strengthens MINI’s reputation for combining driving enjoyment with the highest safety standards in the premium small car segment.
The latest honour follows the MINI Cooper Electric’s five-star Euro NCAP rating awarded in March 2025. According to Euro NCAP, the model stood out for its consistently high performance across all safety categories, including occupant protection, child safety, pedestrian and cyclist protection, and advanced driver assistance systems.
Available in three variants—MINI Cooper E, MINI Cooper SE, and MINI John Cooper Works Electric—the fully electric MINI Cooper impressed assessors with its comprehensive standard safety equipment alongside its electric drivetrain and signature go-kart driving feel.
Commenting on the achievement, Jean-Philippe Parain, Head of the MINI brand, said the award is a strong endorsement of MINI’s safety philosophy. He noted that the MINI Cooper, along with the MINI Countryman and MINI Aceman, has achieved the maximum Euro NCAP rating, underscoring the brand’s commitment to delivering both driving pleasure and top-tier safety.
Euro NCAP highlighted the MINI Cooper Electric’s integrated safety concept, which includes enhanced occupant protection, pelvic seatbelt pretensioners, and a broad range of standard driver assistance features designed to help prevent accidents in urban environments.
In the 2025 Euro NCAP crash tests, the MINI Cooper Electric achieved 89 percent for adult occupant protection, 87 percent for child safety, 79 percent for safety assist systems, and an impressive 77 percent score for pedestrian and cyclist protection—an especially strong result within the city and supermini category.
With its combination of advanced safety technology, zero-emission performance, and iconic design, the second generation of the fully electric MINI Cooper continues to set new standards for urban mobility, reaffirming MINI’s leadership in the premium electric small car market.
