Telangana’s electric mobility ecosystem received a major boost as Keto Motors Private Limited, a leading EV manufacturer headquartered in the state, announced a significant expansion plan at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana in the presence of Industries & Commerce Minister Sri D. Sridhar Babu, marking a strategic milestone in the state’s growing EV leadership.
Under the MoU, Keto Motors will set up a Greenfield electric bus manufacturing facility at Jadcherla with a proposed investment of ₹300 crore. The advanced plant will produce a full range of 9-metre to 13-metre electric buses aimed at both intra-city and inter-city public transport. The project is expected to generate over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs within the next three years.
Minister Sridhar Babu hailed the agreement as a strong endorsement of Telangana’s progress in the EV sector. “This initiative highlights Telangana’s rapid rise as the EV capital of India,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to world-class infrastructure, progressive EV policies, and a robust innovation ecosystem.
Keto Motors is also working on an innovative unified digital ticketing platform that will allow seamless commuting across autos, cars, and buses using a single ticket — improving affordability and operational efficiency in public transport.
Explaining the company’s expansion vision, Rajeev YSR, Group Chief Marketing Officer, said the public transport system currently operates in fragmented silos across first, middle, and last-mile connectivity. “Our mission is to build an integrated multimodal electric mobility ecosystem. After extensive research, we have designed electric buses that address long-standing supply and quality gaps in the 9m–12m segment,” he noted.
Keto Motors already has a strong presence in the L5 electric three-wheeler market with its Trilux (Passenger) and Bulke Plus (Cargo) models, used widely for last-mile mobility.
With the new plant, the company is making a strategic entry into the electric bus segment, one of the most underserved yet critical sectors in Indian public transport. Director Venkatesh Challa highlighted that the industry faces a severe supply shortage of electric buses, delaying procurement for many fleet operators. The upcoming Jadcherla plant will begin with a capacity of 1,000+ e-buses per year, scalable based on market demand.
“We are committed to reliability, timely delivery, and world-class quality. This MoU represents a major step in our long-term growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to India’s electric mobility future,” Challa added.
With this investment, Telangana continues to consolidate its position as a national EV innovation hub while Keto Motors strengthens its footprint across the electric mobility landscape.
