Hyundai has electrified the automotive world with its triple debut at the 101st Brussels Motor Show. The company showcased the all-electric INSTER, its crossover variant INSTER Cross, and the revolutionary hydrogen fuel cell concept INITIUM. The event marks Hyundai’s continued leadership in sustainable mobility, combining electrification and hydrogen technology to drive toward a zero-emission future.
Redefining Compact EVs: The INSTER and INSTER Cross
The INSTER, a bold small SUV, leads Hyundai’s EV lineup into uncharted territory with a segment-leading range of 370 kilometers (WLTP), fast charging capabilities, and bi-directional charging functionality. Designed for urban convenience, it combines eco-friendly materials with state-of-the-art technology.
For adventurers, the INSTER Cross offers a rugged alternative, featuring a 360-kilometer range (WLTP), roof racks, skid plates, and a signature Amazonas Green Matte finish. This crossover bridges the gap between city commuting and outdoor escapades.
INITIUM: Hyundai’s Hydrogen Vision
Taking center stage, the INITIUM concept demonstrates Hyundai’s dedication to hydrogen technology. With an impressive range exceeding 650 kilometers, a 150 kW motor output, and the brand’s new “Art of Steel” design language, INITIUM embodies the next generation of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs). Set for production in early 2025, INITIUM aims to revolutionize both mobility and energy ecosystems.
“Unveiling INSTER, INSTER Cross, and INITIUM at the Brussels Motor Show reflects Hyundai’s commitment to electrification and hydrogen as complementary paths to a sustainable future. These models underscore our ability to cater to diverse mobility needs while staying true to our zero-emission vision,” said Raf Van Nuffel, Vice President of Product at Hyundai Motor Europe.
Hyundai’s Hydrogen Strategy
Beyond passenger vehicles, Hyundai envisions hydrogen playing a vital role in clean logistics and heavy-duty transportation. Its HTWO brand aims to pioneer innovative hydrogen production and integrate mobility with energy solutions. Hyundai’s XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks already exemplify this vision on European motorways.
The Brussels Motor Show runs from January 10–19, 2025, offering visitors an exclusive look at Hyundai’s latest innovations. With its groundbreaking models, Hyundai reaffirms its position as a leader in sustainable mobility.
