
Hyundai Motor Company revealed its latest flagship electric SUV, the IONIQ 9, at the renowned Goldstein House in Beverly Hills, California, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The venue, celebrated for its mid-century modern architecture, served as the perfect setting to highlight the SUV’s cutting-edge design, spacious interior, and Hyundai’s ambitions in electrification.
With the glittering LA skyline as a backdrop, the event welcomed over 300 global media representatives, influencers, and industry leaders. José Muñoz, President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company, inaugurated the premiere with a speech reaffirming Hyundai’s commitment to electric vehicles.
“The IONIQ 5 and 6 have earned multiple World Car of the Year titles. Today, we elevate our game with the IONIQ 9, a testament to our leadership in electrification,” Muñoz remarked.
Innovative Design and Spacious Interiors
The IONIQ 9 exemplifies Hyundai’s design philosophy, blending innovation with functionality. SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design, described the SUV as a “fusion of sophistication and practicality, built to redefine expectations in the electric SUV segment.”
The vehicle boasts flexible seating configurations, including a roomy third row, and features Hyundai’s Universal Island 2.0 console for enhanced versatility. Die-cast models at the event highlighted these design elements, while exhibition items, such as a boat sculpture centerpiece, symbolized the vehicle’s creative inspiration.

The premiere was infused with K-culture influences, from the entertainment to the cuisine, creating a vibrant, immersive atmosphere. Sungwon Jee, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that the IONIQ 9 represents the evolution of the IONIQ brand and its values of sustainability, innovation, and human-centric design.
