In a significant advancement toward sustainable transportation, LeafyBus, an electric bus operator based in New Delhi, has partnered with Accelerated Money For U (AMU) to launch its inaugural fleet of 10 electric buses for inter-city travel. The financing for these buses will be provided by AMU, and they are set to initially operate on high-traffic routes, including the busy Delhi-Dehradun corridor. This initiative marks a pivotal step in India’s transition to green mobility.
The collaboration reflects India’s increasing emphasis on sustainable transport solutions, particularly within the electric vehicle (EV) sector. By catering to the demand for cleaner mobility on high-demand routes, LeafyBus and AMU aim to significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with long-distance travel while offering passengers a cost-effective transport alternative.
LeafyBus’ new electric buses are equipped with a range of features prioritizing passenger safety and comfort. Each bus includes CCTV surveillance and real-time tracking systems, along with a dedicated “Bus Buddy” to assist passengers during their journey. To ensure optimal safety standards, the buses are fitted with Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), alongside a clean and comfortable interior designed for a smooth travel experience.

Additionally, LeafyBus has recently formed a partnership with JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd., which will see the company procure a total of 200 electric buses, with 50 buses slated for introduction within the first year. This collaboration further underscores LeafyBus’ commitment to expanding its electric fleet and promoting sustainable transportation solutions across India.
