Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup River Mobility is accelerating its growth plans with the opening of its first showroom in Chennai. Backed by prominent investors like Yamaha Motor Corp and Mitsui & Company Ltd, the company aims to establish a strong retail presence across India.

By March 2025, River Mobility plans to have 50 showrooms operational, with a target of 100 showrooms by March 2026. This aggressive expansion strategy is fueled by the increasing demand for electric vehicles and the company’s successful launch of the “Indie” scooter model.

With a strong financial backing of Rs 550 crore and a growing workforce of 750 employees, River Mobility is well-positioned to compete in the burgeoning electric vehicle market. The company is also investing heavily in research and development, with a focus on battery technology and product expansion.

As part of its expansion strategy, River Mobility plans to introduce a new product in early 2026 and is exploring opportunities to set up a new manufacturing facility.
