Mr. Gwanggu Lee Appointed as Managing Director and CEO of Kia India

Kia India, a leading carmaker in the country, has named Mr. Gwanggu Lee as its new Managing Director and CEO. Effective immediately, he succeeds Mr. Kook Hyun Shim and Mr. Tae Jin Park to become the third person to hold this position. Mr. Tae Jin Park, the former MD & CEO, is retiring after an illustrious 36-year tenure with Kia Corporation, including four years at Kia India.

Bringing over 30 years of robust automotive sector experience, Mr. Gwanggu Lee aims to drive Kia’s transformative journey towards sustainable business growth. His extensive leadership roles in various regions, including the US, Canada, Italy, Mexico, Kia Headquarters in Central and South America, and Kia Europe Headquarters in Germany, notably his presidency at Kia Mexico, played a crucial role in the company’s significant growth and establishment as a production and export hub.

Expressing his excitement, Mr. Gwanggu Lee, MD, and CEO of Kia India, remarked, “It’s a privilege to lead a team that has already set industry benchmarks. My vision is to unlock the next phase of growth by enhancing Kia’s brand experiences, creating more value for our customers, partners, and employees.”
