To celebrate Sardar Patel’s Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fleet of 30 electric buses at the ‘Statue of Unity’ as a part of his commitment to promote green mobility initiatives. These 12-meter air-conditioned electric buses, produced by JBM Auto, will replace the existing diesel buses, providing tourists with a quieter and more environmentally friendly transportation option.

As a broader part of the green initiative, the Prime Minister also introduced a public bike-sharing program, facilitated the distribution of city gas by Gujarat Gas Limited, and introduced golf carts to streamline transportation for tourists visiting the ‘Statue of Unity.’

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of the JBM Group, expressed, “This marks a significant step in ensuring a clean environment around the world’s tallest statue and aligns with the broader goal of achieving NetZero by 2070.”

Arya further stated, “In order to expedite the uptake of electric buses in India, we recently inaugurated the nation’s most extensive bus manufacturing facility, capable of producing 20,000 buses each year. We have introduced technological innovations and expanded our ‘Make in India’ initiative to the global market, making our product range available to international markets.”
