Hero MotoCorp And Zero Motorcycles Agree To Collaborate On New Premium Electric Vehicles

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, and Zero Motorcycles, a California (USA)-based manufacturer of premium electric motorcycles and powertrains, have signed agreements to collaborate on premium Electric Motorcycles. The collaboration combines the expertise of Zero in developing power trains and electric motorcycles with the scale of manufacturing, sourcing, and marketing of Hero MotoCorp. In September 2022, the Board of Hero MotoCorp approved an equity investment of up to US$60 million in Zero Motorcycles. Zero Motorcycles is the global leader in electric motorcycles and powertrains. Designed and crafted in California, Zero Motorcycles combines Silicon Valley technology with traditional motorcycle soul to elevate the motorcycling experience for riders around the world.

Honda Cars India Launches New City e:HEV In India

Honda Cars India Ltd, a leading manufacturer of premium cars in India launched the New City (Petrol) and New City e:HEV in the Indian market with the sporty exterior styling, elegant interior enhancements, and the introduction of new features for advanced safety, connectivity, and convenience. Both the models are BS-6 RDE compliant on E5 fuel and E20 material compatibility. Matter Launches Aera Electric Motorcycle With Four Variants In India

Matter, an electric mobility startup backed by prominent investors like Baring Private Equity as well as Infoedge revealed the price for its geared electric motorcycles. The motorbike “Aera” will be offered in four versions which are Aera 4000, Aera 5000, Aera 5000+, and Aera 6000+. Currently, the company has announced the pre-registration costs of Aera 5000 as well as Aera 5000+. Aera 5000 is priced at Rs 1,43,999 and Aera 5000+ is priced at Rs 1,53,999. Matter Aera is available in two different battery capacities: There are two battery capacities for Aera: 5kWh and 6kWh. Prices for pre-registration are based on the support provided by central government through GST slab and subsidies. During registration, customers can avail of state government benefits. Aera 6000+ will soon come with a 6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Statiq Launches TSEV App For EV Buyers And Users In Telangana

Statiq, a Gurgaon-based provider of EV charging, has created TSEV, an app that can be used by electric vehicle buyers and users in Telangana. A cabinet minister in the state government, KT Ramarao launched the application. TSEV is a white-label, functional solution. It provides a single-point interface for electric vehicle owners who want to recharge their EVs and those looking to buy a new EV. The app can also be used as an e-commerce platform to sell EVs in the state. The app will help government realize its vision of providing affordable and reliable charging infrastructure that allows for sustainable transportation.

Olectra Greentech Receives An Order For 550 Electric Buses From Telangana State Road Transport Corporation

Olectra Greentech Limited announces that it had received an order from the TSRTC or Telangana State Road Transport Corporation for 550 pure-electric buses. According to a press release, the order is the largest for electric buses in South India by TSRTC. It is crucial in Telangana’s move towards electric mobility for large-scale clean and green public transport. K V Pradeep (chairman and managing director at Olectra Greentech Limited) stated that the order will supply 50 standard floor 12-metre intercity coach electric buses and 500 intracity electric buses with a low 12-metre floor.

Uttar Pradesh Government To Exempt Road Tax And Registration Fees For Electric Vehicles

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath announced that the government will eliminate road tax and registration fees for electric vehicles purchased starting October 14, 2022. The exemption will also be applicable for five years to the purchase of electric vehicles made in the state. The government has given orders to all RTOs in all districts to comply with the instructions immediately. The revised notification by L. Venkateshwarlu, Principal Secretary, states that electric vehicles will receive a 100% tax exemption as per the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022. This applies to all EVs sold and registered in Uttar Pradesh between October 14, 2022, and October 13, 2025.

DAO EvTech, An Electric Mobility Startup To Invest Rs 100 Crore In Tamil Nadu

DAO EvTech, an electric mobility startup, has plans to invest Rs 100 Crore in the state of Tamil Nadu and hire approximately 2,000 people by 2025. DAO began production at its Chakan, Pune facility. This has allowed two-wheeler electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities, as well as investments from DAO Evtech LLC, a US-based company, and Michael Liu, its promoter. Apart from the Rs 100 crore for Tamil Nadu, DAO EvTech plans to invest USD 100 million in India as well. Recently, the company showcased an electric vehicle line in the city. Tamil Nadu is a crucial market for any electric two-wheeler manufacturer. Liu stated that Chennai has the highest two-wheeler penetration rate of 73%. This is twice the rate in major cities such as Mumbai and Bengaluru.
