Switch Mobility delivered the first batch of Switch EiV 22 to BEST, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport, Mumbai. This was done in an effort to revive double-decker buses throughout the city. This is the first of 200 electric double-decker buses that BEST has ordered.
Switch EiV 22 is India’s first electric double-decker air-conditioned bus. It was developed and manufactured in India. The new electric double-decker bus is claimed to have the most up-to-date technology, modern design, and the highest level of comfort.

He stated that the company is committed in democratizing zero carbon mobility through innovative, technologically advanced products such as the Switch EiV 22 India’s first electric double-decker. It was launched in August 2022. We are proud to have delivered the 200th electric double-decker to Bext. The Switch electric double-decker is lightweight and aluminium, boasting nearly twice as many seated passengers as a single-decker bus. It also has a weight increase of only 18%. It features wide front and back doors, two staircases, and an emergency door that conforms to the most recent safety standards.
The 231 kWh, 2-string, liquid-cooled and higher density NMC chemistry NMC battery pack powers the Switch EiV 22 electric bus. It has dual gun charging technology that can charge up to 250 kilometers for intra-city applications.
