ETO Motors launches last-mile services in partnership with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) with all women driver partners from Azadpur Metro Station in an effort to improve the experience for metro commuters in Delhi.
The vehicle manufacturer has partnered with the School of Driving & Training Institute, Burari, Sarai Kale Khan, MOWO social initiatives, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, Institute of Driving and Traffic Research, and the Transport Department of Delhi to mobilize and train them.
Pavan Chavali (Managing Director, ETO Motors) noted that the company has already trained 100 women in Gujarat to drive electric autos in Kevadia (Ekta Nagar), and is now deploying 300 electric autos at Metro Stations in Delhi with DMRC in a gradual manner.
According to a company press release, the company will use its Trilux 1.0 L5 passenger electric auto as part of this initiative. The e3W is equipped with a 7.37-kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of 100 kms and a top speed of 45 kmph.
The company will add 100 electric autos to Delhi roads in the next two months and more charging and parking hubs at Kalka Ji, Dwarka, and Uttam Nagar as well as Majlis Park metro stations.
Anuj Dayal is the Principal Executive Director of DMRC. He stated that introducing these electric autos will increase last-mile connectivity for passengers from nearby areas.
He said that DMRC had introduced numerous eco-friendly initiatives in recent years to ensure a strong last-mile connectivity system. This allows commuters to choose non-polluting public transport over personal cars.
