In an effort to promote noise-free as well as pollution-free public transport, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath flagged off 42 electric buses. They will be operating in Lucknow and Kanpur. There will be 34 buses in Lucknow and 8 in Kanpur.

Adityanath launched the service and stated that public transport should be free of noise and pollution. He added that the new electric buses will significantly improve connectivity between cities.

The Chief Minister appreciated officials and other parties for reaching new milestones in ensuring that cities are free of pollution. State authorities are working to increase the use of electric buses for public transport. Electric buses are also planned for other cities within the state.

The government launched Lucknow’s first electric bus in 2019 from Alambagh to Gomtinagar. City Transport Services Limited plans to purchase 100 more electric buses before the end of 2019. Officials said that Lucknow will receive more charging stations in the next few months to enable hassle-free electric mobility transport.
