Delta, a global leader for power and thermal management solutions has announced that it has delivered over 6,000 electric vehicle chargers to Indian customers.
Under an agreement with Tata Power Company Limited supplied over 1,000 chargers. It has installed more than 60 EV chargers at various sites and these are operated by Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), and 114 EV chargers to BESCOM, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd.
A single site also houses 11 fast chargers, which is a boon for India’s largest bus OEMs. A portfolio of EV chargers was also provided by Delta to a Kerala state utility.
According to Benjamin Lin, President and GM of Delta Electronics India, the company intends to increase its localized content to 80% in the next few years. We welcome any government initiative to grow the local manufacturing sector. Delta India’s R&D teams and engineering teams are actually working on more local solutions such as battery swapping systems to power electric scooters and fast EV chargers.
Delta provides a complete solution to enable EV charging infrastructure. This includes site survey, design, specifications, installation and aftersales support. It is also the first to offer fully-integrated EV charger solutions in India, including solar PV inverters and energy storage systems.
Delta is expanding its R&D capabilities and manufacturing capabilities in India as part of the “Make In India” initiative. Delta now manufactures more than half of its products in India.
Delta India offers a full range of EV chargers to Indian customers. The wall-mount DC Wallbox EV Charger is small and lightweight, allowing for fast charging. This charger is perfect for commercial applications, such as parking lots, offices, fleets and hotels.
