Delta Introduces Space Efficient EV Charger SLIM-100

Delta, a global leader for power and thermal management solutions has launched SLIM 100, a compact EV charger. It has a maximum power output of 100 kW, and rectifiers that deliver 97% efficiency. The SLIM 100 can charge up to three vehicles simultaneously and provides both DC and AC charging. It can provide 100kW of power within a single cabinet. This makes it ideal for applications that require space. It is well-suited for commercial applications, parking lots and service stations, as well as urban traffic hubs, where space is limited.

Vincent Lin, Delta EMEA’s senior director for e-mobilility & Smart Energy Solutions, commented on the introduction. Lin stated that EVs are becoming more popular as drivers recognize their sustainability, performance, and environmental benefits. However, there is not much space for EV chargers, particularly in urban areas. The SLIM 100 was created to address the increasing demand for a compact, powerful charger that can be used in a variety of applications.

Efficient charging service and complete system integration

The SLIM 100 allows simultaneous charging of up to three vehicles. There are two charge points for DC quick charging up to 100kW and one for AC charging up to 22kW. Dynamic load distribution reduces charge time for EV owners. The Slim 100’s 97% efficiency is of particular interest to operators, given the rising cost of energy across EMEA. Operators will be able to save significant amounts of energy.

SLIM 100 supports OCPP 1.5S/1.6J, web socket and TLS as well as Ethernet or Modem (2G/3G/4G). Dual modem connectivity is available for simultaneous access via CPO or service backend. The SLIM 100 can also support ISO 15118-2.

Optimal Installation and Operation

SLIM 100 is smaller than many fast chargers available on the market. It doesn’t need a large space for installation or a large team of installers, which reduces the overall cost and time to install. Because the SLIM 100 weighs only 200kg, it is not necessary to arrange for special transportation methods such as cranes before installation. The SLIM 100 can also be placed in areas that are not accessible by cranes like underground parking environments. The SLIM 100’s height means that there is no need for building permissions to be granted in urban areas. This also reduces the planning phase. The SLIM 100 provides multiple user authentication options such as RFID reader and credit card. A 7-inch LCD interface, which is non-touch, gives an easy overview of the functions. The SLIM 100’s all-weather outdoor design ensures that it can operate in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +50°C. It is also vandal-proof. Side access permits installation near walls. Its conformance to DIN 18040 standard allows for barrier-free access for those with mobility or health issues.
