ABB and Eviny have collaborated on the first installations of ABB’s Terra 360.
ABB’s Terra 360, a partnership with Eviny, Norway’s e-mobility leader is now available to the rapidly expanding community of EV drivers in the Oasen Shopping Center Bergen and Geilo, Norway.
These pilot installations will be followed by a larger rollout across Norway and Sweden. They are a further demonstration that ABB charging technology can perform in extreme weather conditions, and allow for sustainable transport solutions in a wide range of locations.
Two charging stations can charge simultaneously up to two vehicles using dynamic power distribution. Terra 360 has a maximum output power of 360 kW and can fully charge an electric car in less than 15 minutes.
Frank Muehlon is the CEO of ABB E-mobility. He said: “Having just unveiled Terra 360 to the entire world, these are truly historic launches, which we are thrilled to partner with Eviny. Norway sets the standard for e-mobility transition. We are eager to hear how EV drivers react to this milestone in Norway’s EV adoption journey”.
Norway wants to be the first country to stop selling petrol and diesel cars by 2025. Pure EV sales account for 64.5 percent of all new cars sold by 2021, nearly two-thirds of all cars. Eviny actively supports Norway’s EV transition with over 400 fast chargers installed in more 150 locations throughout the country.
Jannicke Hilland, CEO of ABB, stated that Terra 360 was the best option for Eviny’s recent network expansion. “For many years we have been involved with the Norwegian transition to e-mobility. When choosing between an electric car and a fossil-fueled vehicle, we know how crucial it is to have a reliable charging station. Norway is making e-mobility a reality. We need fast chargers to keep up with the pace. We are proud to have Terra 360 from ABB in our hands”.
Terra 360 provides speed, convenience, comfort, ease of use and a feeling of familiarity. It is lightweight and quick to set up. It can also be used by wheelchairs.
ABB is the world’s leader in electric vehicle infrastructure. They offer a full range of charging solutions and electrification options for electric cars, hybrid buses, trucks, ships, and railways.
