Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TATA.ev) have announced that their co-branded Tata Power x TATA.ev Mega Charger network has crossed 70,000 charging sessions, marking a significant milestone in the development of India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
The 10 Mega Charger hubs deployed across Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have collectively recorded more than 85,000 hours of charging, supporting over 75 lakh electric kilometres and helping avoid an estimated 6,690 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The network currently comprises 25 fast chargers and 56 charging guns, with a cumulative charging capacity of 2.7 MW. Individual charging hubs offer capacities ranging from 180 kW to 600 kW, allowing multiple EVs to charge simultaneously.
Four Mega Charger hubs are located along the Yamuna Expressway, connecting Greater Noida and Agra. Three hubs serve the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor, including locations at 7 Midway Plaza in Suryapet, Hotel Vivera in Narketpalle and ILabs in Hyderabad.
Another hub at Retreat Restro serves the Bengaluru–Tirupati route, while the Sai International hub in Sangli supports the Pune–Bengaluru corridor. The network also includes charging infrastructure supporting intra-city mobility in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The Tata Power x TATA.ev The Leela Mega Charger Hub in Mumbai, located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, is the flagship facility. The hub has 16 charging guns, comprising six 60 kW and two 120 kW fast chargers, with a total capacity of 600 kW. It can support simultaneous charging for up to 16 EVs.
The Mumbai facility is positioned along a high-traffic corridor connecting business, travel and logistics hubs and is designed to cater to private EV owners, taxis, ride-hailing fleets and other high-frequency EV users.
The Mega Charger network forms part of Tata Power’s broader EV charging ecosystem, which includes more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, over 2.5 lakh home chargers and more than 1,200 bus charging points across over 690 cities and towns.
Tata Power is targeting 10,000 public charging points and 7.5 lakh home chargers by 2030, as EV adoption accelerates across India.
The TATA.ev Mega Charging Hub initiative is aimed at supporting the expansion of high-speed and reliable EV charging infrastructure across major highway corridors and urban EV markets. Several of the charging hubs are accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge app, enabling users to locate and access charging facilities.
Mega Charger Hub Locations
The 10 Tata Power x TATA.ev Mega Charger hubs are located across four states:
1.Telangana: 7 Midway Plaza, Suryapet; Hotel Vivera, Narketpalle; and ILabs, Hyderabad. These hubs support the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor and intra-city charging in Hyderabad.
2.Andhra Pradesh: Retreat Restro, serving the Bengaluru–Tirupati route.
3.Maharashtra: Sai International, Sangli, serving the Pune–Bengaluru corridor, and The Leela Mega Charger Hub in Mumbai.
4.Uttar Pradesh: Four hubs along the Yamuna Expressway, connecting Greater Noida and Agra, located at the 107 km LHS, 35 km LHS, 100 km RHS and 16 km RHS points.
Charging capacity across the hubs ranges from 180 kW to 600 kW, with individual locations equipped with multiple charging guns to enable simultaneous charging of several EVs. The Leela Mega Charger Hub in Mumbai has the highest capacity at 600 kW with 16 charging guns.
