The Government of Tamil Nadu has expanded its public transportation network with the induction of 300 new buses for the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations (TNSTC). The new fleet has been procured at a total cost of ₹127.21 crore as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to modernize public transport infrastructure and improve commuter services.

The newly inducted buses were flagged off by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, accessible, and efficient public transportation across the state.

The addition of the new buses is expected to enhance connectivity, improve travel comfort, and strengthen the overall efficiency of Tamil Nadu’s public transport system. The expanded fleet will serve lakhs of daily commuters while supporting the state’s broader objective of delivering modern and sustainable mobility solutions.

The initiative forms part of Tamil Nadu’s continued investment in upgrading transport infrastructure to meet growing passenger demand and improve service quality across urban and rural regions.
