Green SM, the electric mobility company backed by Vietnam’s VinFast ecosystem, has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of Green SM Limo, a fully electric taxi service operating in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).
The launch ceremony, held in New Delhi on World Environment Day, was attended by senior Indian government officials, representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy, and partners from the transportation, energy, finance, technology, and infrastructure sectors. The move makes India Green SM’s fifth international market after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Green SM Limo will deploy the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater electric SUV designed specifically for passenger transport services. The company aims to provide a premium travel experience through spacious vehicles, zero-emission operations, and enhanced passenger amenities, including drinking water and essential comfort supplies.
Safety remains a key focus of the service. Vehicles are equipped with the company’s “Secure-to-Safe” system, featuring AI-powered monitoring, interior and exterior cameras, and emergency support buttons for both drivers and passengers. Drivers, branded as “Green Drivers,” undergo professional training in electric vehicle operations, road safety, and customer service.
Initially, Green SM Limo will operate across major areas of Delhi NCR, with plans to expand its service coverage in phases. Customers can book rides through the Green SM mobile application, customer hotline, or by hailing vehicles directly in operating zones.
To mark its India debut, Green SM is offering a promotional discount of 50%, up to INR 250, on rides booked through the app from June 5 to June 11.
Speaking at the launch, Green SM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh described India as one of the world’s most important mobility markets, citing its scale, rapid growth, and innovation-driven economy. He emphasized the company’s commitment to collaborating with local partners while expanding access to safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation options.
The company also announced the inclusion of five Indian organizations into its Green Alliance Frontier initiative, a global platform that connects businesses committed to sustainability and green transformation.
