Volvo Cars has announced expanded access to Tesla’s fast-charging network for its electric vehicle customers across Europe and key Asia-Pacific markets, aiming to make public charging more convenient and accessible.

Beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026, fully electric Volvo drivers in Europe will be able to use the Volvo Cars app to access more than 20,000 Tesla, Inc. Supercharger stations across 29 countries. The move significantly broadens charging availability in major European markets including Germany, France, Norway, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Spain.

Volvo said the integration is part of its broader strategy to simplify electric vehicle ownership and accelerate the transition toward full electrification.

Alejandro Castro Pérez, Head of Energy Solutions at Volvo Cars, said the partnership would strengthen access to one of the world’s most recognized charging networks.

“Adding Tesla Superchargers in Europe means drivers now have even easier access to fast charging through a seamless ecosystem,” Pérez said.

The company noted that Volvo EV owners already have access to more than three million charging points globally through the Volvo Cars app, including over 1.2 million charging points across Europe and 120,000 in North America.

In addition to the European rollout, Volvo announced plans to adopt the North American Charging System (NACS), also known as SAE J3400, for selected models in Japan and South Korea by 2029. The change is expected to allow future Volvo models in those markets to connect directly to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

The initiative reflects a growing trend among automakers toward charging standardization and interoperability as the global electric vehicle market expands. Volvo stated that improving charging reliability and convenience is central to encouraging wider EV adoption.

The expanded charging access will apply to several all-electric Volvo models, including the Volvo EX30, Volvo EX40, Volvo EC40, Volvo EX60, Volvo EX90, and Volvo ES90.
