In a significant move to address the growing challenge of electric vehicle (EV) battery waste, PeakAmp has announced a strategic partnership with Stefen Electric. The collaboration aims to ensure responsible management and recycling of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries generated within the EV ecosystem.

Under the agreement, PeakAmp will serve as the exclusive partner for recycling and environmental compliance for Stefen Electric. The company will manage the entire lifecycle of battery waste, including collection, reverse logistics, recycling processes, and compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.

All recycling activities will adhere strictly to guidelines set by the Central Pollution Control Board and the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022. This ensures that the disposal and processing of used batteries align with India’s evolving regulatory framework focused on sustainability and environmental safety.

Speaking on the development, Aditya Sudhanshu, Co-Founder and COO of PeakAmp, highlighted the urgency of structured battery waste systems amid rising EV adoption. He noted that the partnership would enable a transparent and traceable approach to battery collection and recycling, contributing to a more efficient and accountable ecosystem.

Echoing similar sentiments, Vipin Nagar, Head of Commercials at Stefen Electric, emphasized the importance of sustainable battery management for the long-term growth of the EV sector. He stated that the collaboration would help establish a robust framework for safe disposal, material recovery, and full lifecycle traceability of batteries.

The partnership is expected to enhance Stefen Electric’s ability to meet regulatory requirements while ensuring environmentally sound handling of battery waste. Additionally, it aims to improve traceability across the battery lifecycle, a critical factor in building trust and accountability in the recycling value chain.

With India’s electric mobility sector expanding rapidly, the volume of batteries reaching end-of-life is projected to increase significantly in the coming years. This collaboration positions both companies to address the impending surge by offering scalable, compliant, and sustainable battery management solutions.

PeakAmp, known for developing India’s first full-stack solution for EV battery lifecycle management, continues to focus on transforming battery waste into valuable resources through recycling and second-life applications—supporting the nation’s transition toward a circular economy and cleaner energy future.
