Bajaj Auto has announced a major update to its popular Dominar motorcycle lineup, introducing a re-engineered version of the Bajaj Dominar 400 that now features a 350cc engine, significantly reducing its price and broadening its appeal among Indian riders.
The revised model is priced at ₹2,03,214 (ex-showroom Delhi), marking a reduction of nearly ₹37,000 compared to its earlier pricing. The price cut is largely attributed to the shift to a 350cc engine, allowing the company to pass on an 18% GST benefit to customers.
Despite the downsized engine, Bajaj Auto emphasized that the motorcycle retains its core performance, touring capabilities, and signature design. The Dominar series has long been positioned as a touring-focused motorcycle, and the new model continues to offer a balance of power, comfort, and endurance suited for both daily commuting and long-distance rides.
The move aligns with the company’s broader strategy of making premium motorcycling more accessible. By lowering the cost of ownership while maintaining key features, Bajaj aims to attract a wider base of touring enthusiasts in India.
Commenting on the launch, Sarang Kanade, President of the Motorcycle Business Unit at Bajaj Auto, said the Dominar brand has always represented strong touring performance and reliability. He added that the new pricing approach ensures riders can access the same experience at a more affordable cost, reinforcing the company’s goal of “democratizing touring and sports motorcycling.”
The updated Dominar 400 continues to serve as an all-rounder motorcycle, designed to seamlessly transition between urban commuting and highway touring. Industry observers see this repositioning as a strategic response to price-sensitive demand in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
With this launch, Bajaj Auto strengthens its competitive stance in India’s growing premium motorcycle market, where affordability and performance remain key decision drivers for consumers.
