Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved its highest-ever annual production, surpassing 23.4 lakh units in FY 2025–26, marking a historic milestone for India’s largest passenger vehicle maker.
The company becomes the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to reach this level of production in a single financial year. It also stands out among all global facilities of Suzuki Motor Corporation as the only one to achieve such volumes.
Top-performing models driving this growth include the Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga, and Baleno, each crossing the 2 lakh unit production mark during the year.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, said the achievement reflects decades of trust and collaboration across the company’s ecosystem. He credited employees, suppliers, and dealer partners, along with supportive government policies, for enabling this growth. Measures such as GST 2.0 were highlighted as key in boosting market confidence and demand.
Maruti Suzuki currently operates four manufacturing plants located in Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkhoda in Haryana, along with Hansalpur in Gujarat. Together, these facilities have a combined annual production capacity of 24 lakh units.
Looking ahead, the company is aggressively expanding its manufacturing footprint. In March 2026, it identified land for a fifth plant at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat. Once fully operational, the new facility is expected to add an annual capacity of 10 lakh units.
The automaker aims to scale its total production capacity to approximately 40 lakh units per year, aligning with its long-term growth and export ambitions. Backed by its parent company’s confidence in India’s growth story, Maruti Suzuki is increasingly positioning the country as a global manufacturing and export hub.
Currently, the company produces 17 models with over 650 variants catering to both domestic and international markets, reinforcing its leadership in India’s automotive sector.
With record-breaking output and expansion plans underway, Maruti Suzuki is poised to further strengthen its dominance while contributing significantly to India’s manufacturing and export landscape.
