TVS Motor Company (TVSM), a leading global manufacturer of two- and three-wheelers, reported a strong 29% year-on-year growth in overall sales for January 2026, underscoring sustained demand across domestic and international markets. The company recorded total sales of 511,766 units, compared to 397,623 units in January 2025.
Two-Wheelers Drive Growth
TVS Motor’s two-wheeler segment continued to be the primary growth driver, registering a 28% increase with sales rising from 387,671 units in January 2025 to 494,195 units in January 2026.
Domestic two-wheeler sales witnessed a robust 30% growth, climbing to 383,262 units from 293,860 units a year earlier, reflecting strong consumer demand in the Indian market.
Within the segment:
- Motorcycle sales grew by 26%, reaching 219,188 units compared to 174,388 units last year.
- Scooter sales rose by 30%, increasing from 171,111 units to 222,926 units during the same period.
Electric Vehicle Sales Jump 50%
TVS Motor’s electric vehicle business delivered an impressive performance, with EV sales surging 50% year-on-year. The company sold 37,756 electric vehicles in January 2026, up from 25,195 units in January 2025, highlighting growing consumer acceptance of electric mobility solutions.
International Business Remains Strong
The company’s international operations also posted healthy growth. Total exports increased by 21%, rising from 101,055 units in January 2025 to 122,343 units in January 2026.
Two-wheeler exports grew by 18%, with sales increasing to 110,933 units from 93,811 units in the corresponding period last year.
Three-Wheeler Segment Sees Sharp Rise
TVS Motor’s three-wheeler segment recorded the highest growth among all categories, registering a 77% increase in sales. Volumes rose sharply from 9,952 units in January 2025 to 17,571 units in January 2026, driven by improving demand in both domestic and export markets.
