General Motors (GM) has announced a major step toward simplifying public electric vehicle (EV) charging by integrating Electrify America’s fast-charging network directly into its myChevrolet, myGMC, and myCadillac mobile apps.

Through the new integration, GM EV drivers can now find, access, and pay for charging at more than 5,000 Electrify America fast-charging stations, including Hyper-Fast 350-kW chargers, using a single app already installed on their smartphones. The move is designed to eliminate the inconvenience of managing multiple charging apps and accounts.

GM said the streamlined experience places convenient charging access at the center of EV ownership. By navigating to the Public Charging page in their respective myBrand apps, customers can locate supported networks, check real-time charger availability, plan routes, and manage charging sessions while traveling across the United States.

“We’re collaborating across the industry to deliver not just more chargers, but better public charging experiences,” said Wade Sheffer, Vice President of GM Energy. “Our work with Electrify America helps make public charging easier to access for GM EV drivers.”

The Electrify America integration supports GM’s broader strategy to connect drivers with an expanding charging ecosystem. In total, GM EV customers across the U.S. and Canada now have access to more than 250,000 public charging stations.

Electrify America also highlighted the benefits of the partnership as EV adoption continues to rise nationwide.

“As EV travel continues to grow, so does the need for convenient charging experiences,” said Robert Barrosa, CEO and President of Electrify America. “Through this integration, GM EV drivers have more Hyper-Fast chargers to choose from and a seamless experience they can count on nationwide.”

Using the myBrand apps, GM EV drivers can:

  • Locate nearby charging stations with real-time availability
  • Plan routes and charging stops
  • Monitor charging session progress
  • Pay for charging directly within the app

GM noted that as it continues to expand its EV lineup and charging infrastructure, GM Energy will remain focused on collaboration and innovation to meet the evolving needs of electric vehicle customers.
