LEM Unveils High-Precision DC Meters to Power Next-Gen EV Charging Infrastructure

Electrical measurement technology leader LEM has announced the launch of its latest innovation in direct current (DC) energy metering: the DCES600 and DCES1500. These advanced meters are designed to meet the growing demands of the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry, particularly in fast and megawatt-class charging applications such as electric trucks, buses, and fleet infrastructure.

Built on LEM’s extensive experience in electrical measurement, metrology, and energy metering, the DCES series delivers class B accuracy up to 1500A over wide temperature ranges (–40°C to +85°C) without derating—making them ideal for harsh, high-performance environments.

“With these new meters, we are enabling manufacturers to significantly reduce development time while meeting strict legal metrology requirements for kWh billing,” said a LEM spokesperson.
