Ather Energy commences deliveries for its new Rizta family electric scooter. Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, announced the update on X and specified the initial cities to receive the scooter. Launched earlier this year, the Ather Rizta is priced between ₹1.10 lakh and ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Cities like Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, Nagpur, and various locations in Andhra Pradesh are among the first to receive the Rizta. Mehta mentioned that the scooter will soon be available in other cities as well. Production began in early June.
The Ather Rizta is based on the 450X, featuring the same main frame but a new subframe for a lower seat height and enhanced comfort. It uses the PMS electric motor from the 450S, accelerating from 0-40 kmph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 80 kmph.
The Rizta offers multiple battery options: a 2.9 kWh unit with a 123 km range and a 3.7 kWh unit with a 159 km range (claimed). It features telescopic front forks, a single rear shock absorber, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake.
It comes three variants: S (2.9 kWh), Z (2.9 kWh), as well as Z (3.7 kWh). The Rizta S features a DeepView LCD console with turn-by-turn navigation, while the Z variants have a TFT screen with Google Maps navigation. The S trim includes a standard seat, and the Z trim offers a premium seat and pillion backrest. Charging times are 5 hours 45 minutes for the 2.9 kWh versions and 4 hours 30 minutes for the 3.7 kWh version, with fast charging available.
Pricing starts at ₹1.10 lakh for the Rizta S, with the Pro Pack adding ₹13,000. The Rizta Z (2.9 kWh) is ₹1.25 lakh, and the Pro Pack adds ₹15,000. The Rizta Z (3.7 kWh) is ₹1.45 lakh, and the Pro Pack adds ₹20,000.
