Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar), a prominent global supplier of automotive technology solutions, announced that it has obtained Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) accreditation for its second hub wheel motor designed for electric two-wheelers (E2Ws).
In its regulatory filing, the company revealed, “The Ministry of Heavy Industries has granted certification for our second hub wheel motor tailored for electric two-wheelers under the PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry in India.”
Sona Comstar obtained its second certificate on April 2, 2024. Earlier in February 2024, it was the first automotive component manufacturer to receive certification under the Auto Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
The company has submitted seven applications for various products under the PLI scheme, with certification granted for two products thus far. The government introduced the Auto PLI Scheme to promote domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technology vehicles and products.
