JBM, a prominent bus manufacturer in India, has announced the launch of the first fleet of JBM Ecolife e-buses in Berhampur, Odisha. The inauguration was carried out by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Under the order, a total of 200 air-conditioned e-buses will be operational in Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack, marking JBM’s entry into the eastern region of the country.

With over 1,500 JBM electric buses currently operating across 10 states and major airports in India, the company has established an end-to-end electric bus ecosystem at the depot, including power and charging infrastructure.

The recently introduced 9-meter JBM Ecolife electric bus, characterized as a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV), is projected to reduce around 1,000 equivalent tonnes of carbon dioxide and save 420,000 liters of diesel during its operational span of 10 years.

These buses feature fast-charging lithium-ion batteries, modern amenities such as Real-Time Passenger Information System, Panic Buttons, Vehicle Location & Tracking System, and CCTV cameras, and are expected to cover over 200 km per day.
