Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the electric city bus service in Panchkula and Karnal, announcing a complimentary seven-day service launch.

Currently, each city incorporates five 45-seater e-buses, charging Rs 10 for the initial five kilometers and an additional Rs 5 for every subsequent three kilometers.

The route will be tailored to meet residents’ needs, with plans for gradual expansion to nearby towns. The e-bus service has already been implemented in Panipat and Yamunanagar, and similar services are scheduled for Ambala, Sonipat, Rewari, Rohtak, and Hisar.

The electric buses aim to save around 4,20,000 liters of diesel over a decade, featuring advanced amenities such as fast-charging lithium-ion batteries, real-time passenger information systems, panic buttons, and CCTV cameras.
