EVBox, a prominent provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, is taking proactive measures to address the shortage of skilled workers hindering the seamless transition to electric mobility. Recognizing the critical need for trained professionals to support the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of EV charging stations, EVBox has inaugurated a new training facility in Canéjan, France. This move follows the recent opening of another training center in Essen, Germany, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering skills and knowledge within the electric mobility ecosystem.

The scarcity of skilled workers poses a significant roadblock to the widespread adoption of electric mobility. To overcome this challenge, EVBox is dedicated to offering certified training programs, aiming to equip individuals with the expertise essential for the successful transformation of the industry. The expansion of training centers is a strategic move to accommodate a larger number of participants, contributing to the broader skill development and dissemination of knowledge.

The Canéjan training facility aligns with the two decrees of October 27th, 2021 (Decree n°1, Decree n°2), emphasizing the obligation and significance of training courses in maintaining service quality commitments for charging stations accessible to the public. These courses are crucial not only for service quality but also for supporting partners and installers in maintaining their charging stations, facilitating warranty services, and ensuring the stations’ longevity and durability.

The training sessions, exclusively available to installers already IRVE certified, will cover technical specifications, theoretical and practical knowledge of installation and commissioning. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, enhancing their proficiency in managing EV charging stations. The training sessions will be conducted in multiple languages, with the capacity to train close to 600 installers annually.

Canéjan, serving as EVBox’s dedicated after-sales facility, is strategically positioned to host training sessions, while Bordeaux accommodates the company’s factory and corporate office. The 200 m2 training center is staffed by an international, multilingual team of expert trainers with extensive experience in the charging industry.

EVBox’s initiative aims to bridge the skills gap in the electric mobility sector, ensuring a competent and qualified workforce to support the growing demand for EV charging solutions. This investment in training facilities reflects the company’s dedication to contributing to the success and sustainability of the electric mobility industry.
