GreenCell Mobility And VECV Join Forces To Deliver 1,000 Electric Buses In 5 Years

GreenCell Mobility and VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) have announced a significant partnership aimed at supplying 1,000 electric buses over the next five years. This agreement solidified through a memorandum of understanding, outlines VECV’s commitment to providing 1,000 Eicher electric buses to GreenCell’s intercity bus service, NueGo. Currently operational in more than 30 cities, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, and Chennai, NueGo has a strong presence in urban mobility. VECV, a collaboration between Eicher Motors and the Volvo Group, combines expertise from both entities. Meanwhile, GreenCell Mobility is supported by Eversource Capital, a climate impact investment firm, underlining its commitment to environmentally responsible transportation solutions.

Mercedes-Benz Launches Luxury Electric SUV ‘EQE’ In India

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the latest EQE luxury electric SUV in the country, with a starting price of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). Positioned below the EQS in the Mercedes lineup, the EQE comes in a single-spec EQE 500 4MATIC variant and includes a 10-year battery warranty. Competing in the segment against the likes of the Audi Q8 e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and BMW iX, the EQE offers a comprehensive package in its top-spec 500 4MATIC trim. Powering the EQE are two motors, one on each axle, producing 402 bhp and 858 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. Mercedes claims an impressive range of 550 km (WLTP) on a single charge, thanks to the 90.56 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The EQE comes standard with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and supports DC fast charging speeds up to 170 kW.

Taiwanese multinational technology corporation Acer has partnered with Indian electric mobility platform eBikeGo to introduce the Acer MUVI-125-4G, a cutting-edge electric two-wheeler designed to meet the needs of eco-conscious urban commuters. This marks the debut of an EV model under the Acer brand in India, with eBikeGo, a prominent player in sustainable urban mobility in India, responsible for its design and manufacture under a licensing agreement with Acer Incorporated. In a significant development, Ashok Leyland, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This landmark agreement paves the way for the establishment of a state-of-the-art integrated commercial vehicle Bus plant, with a strong emphasis on green mobility, in Uttar Pradesh. Notably, this will mark Ashok Leyland’s first manufacturing facility in the state. Kinetic Green And SBI Forge Partnership For Affordable Electric Three-Wheeler Financing In North India

Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions, a prominent manufacturer of electric two- and three-wheelers, has joined forces with the State Bank of India (SBI), Chandigarh Circle, to offer financing options for its electric three-wheeler range in North India. As part of this collaboration, customers in Haryana (excluding NCR), Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir can access up to 90% financing for the on-road price of an electric rickshaw from SBI. The financing comes with a remarkably low-interest rate of 7% flat (IRR 12.40%) for a 48-month period and does not include processing charges or collateral deposits.

SMEV Urges Government For Unified Road Tax Exemption Policy For Electric Vehicles In India

The Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) has called on the government to establish a consistent nationwide policy regarding the exemption of road taxes for Electric Vehicles (EVs). SMEV emphasized the importance of a uniform and favorable policy environment to promote the adoption of clean and sustainable transportation in India. In a letter to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, SMEV’s Chief Evangelist, Sanjay Kaul, requested the implementation of a unified road tax exemption policy, highlighting its crucial role in encouraging the uptake of EVs for the benefit of both the environment and the economy.
