Ather Energy, a domestic electric vehicle manufacturer, has introduced a new electric two-wheeler named 450S, boasting a range of 115 km and commencing at a starting price of Rs 1,29,999. The company has also revealed an updated version of the 450X, which will incorporate enhanced safety and performance features. Equipped with India’s pioneering DeepView Display, the 450S is powered by a 2.9 kWh battery capacity, offering a range of 115 km, an acceleration from 0 to 40 in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 90 km/h. In addition to the 450S, the company is introducing variations of the 450X with 3kWh and 4kWh battery capacities, providing more choices to consumers. These options also allow customers to choose between models with ranges of 115 km and 145 km.

India Unveils PM-eBus Sewa Scheme; To Deploy 10,000 Electric Buses Across The Country

In a significant stride towards promoting sustainable urban mobility, the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the green light to the “PM-eBus Sewa” scheme. This innovative initiative aims to bolster city bus operations by introducing 10,000 electric buses (e-buses) on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. With an estimated cost of Rs.57,613 crore, the scheme will receive substantial backing of Rs.20,000 crore from the Central government, and it is set to transform urban transportation dynamics over the coming decade. The “PM-eBus Sewa” scheme is tailored to serve cities with a population of three lakh and above, based on the 2011 census data. This inclusive approach covers all capital cities of Union Territories, as well as regions in the North Eastern states and hilly terrains. Notably, the initiative prioritizes cities that currently lack an organized bus service, aiming to bridge gaps in urban connectivity.

Ola Electric has unveiled its latest entry-level electric scooter, the S1X, priced at an introductory rate of Rs 79,999, as it intensifies its competition against traditional internal combustion engine counterparts. The company has also previewed four electric motorcycles set to launch by late 2024. Offered in three variations, namely S1X (with a 2kwh battery), S1X with a 3kwh battery, and S1X+ with an upgraded 3kwh battery along with enhanced connected features, during an event held at the Ola Future Factory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, Ola Electric’s founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, introduced the models.

Mini India Launches The Exclusive Mini Charged Edition

Mini India, a subsidiary of BMW Group, has unveiled the Mini Charged Edition, an exclusive version of the Mini 3-door Cooper SE electric car in India, with a price tag of Rs 55,00,000 (Ex-showroom). Presented as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, only a limited quantity of 20 units are available, exclusively accessible through Mini’s online shop. This exclusive variant also includes the setup of the Mini Smart Wallbox charger and a portable DC charging cable. Buyers can also explore tailored financial options through Mini 360º, along with corporate and trade-in advantages. The Mini Electric experience offers convenience as the high-voltage battery is covered by an 8-year warranty or up to 100,000 kilometers.
