Lord’s Mark Industries Limited, a renowned sustainable business group based in Mumbai, has entered into an exciting joint venture agreement with Kerala state-owned Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL) to lead the manufacturing of electric scooters and bikes (2-wheelers) as well as passenger and loader vehicles (3-wheelers). The significant milestone was marked during a momentous event held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries including P. Rajeev, Hon. Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, Government of Kerala; Stanley Pulluvilas, Chairman, Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL); Saseendran, Managing Director, Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL); Dr. Sunil Waman Korgaonkar, Director – Commercial, KAL – Lords Mark Technology Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Vidit Tiwari, Director – Technical, KAL – Lords Mark Technology Pvt. Ltd. This collaboration aims to drive the advancement of electric mobility in the region, contributing to a greener and more sustainable transportation landscape.
The collaboration between Lord’s Mark Industries and KAL is poised to bring about a transformative impact on the electric vehicle market, not only in India but also in other countries. The joint venture is strategically focused on manufacturing cutting-edge two-wheeler and three-wheeler electric vehicles at the KINFRA Park in Kannur, State of Kerala, with the intention of distributing them nationwide and exploring export opportunities in key global markets. This forward-looking approach aims to drive the adoption of electric mobility, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for transportation.

The joint venture will establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on a 2-acre land at KINFRA Park, Kannur, generously provided by the Government of Kerala. The construction of this facility is expected to be completed within 6-8 months, allowing for swift operationalization. In the interim, the company has exciting plans to introduce the highly anticipated Triton Electric Cycle on October 2, 2023. This groundbreaking electric cycle will be rolled out from the advanced KAL facility in Thiruvananthapuram, boasting cutting-edge technical specifications, and is sure to make a significant impact in the market.

Its powerful 12 Ampere Hours battery provides an unrivaled range of 70-80 kilometers, while the 250 Watts hub motor delivers a smooth and powerful ride. Equipped with dual disc brakes and pedal assist technology, the Triton Electric Cycle is set to revolutionize commuting, offering an easy, stress-free, and environmentally friendly experience.
To support the Joint Venture’s initial sustainability and growth, the Government may consider providing subsidies to people in Kerala purchasing the electric cycle and other electric vehicles.
The electric vehicle market has witnessed remarkable growth, with two-wheeler electric vehicle sales increasing a staggering 40 times from 2018 to 2023. Lord’s Mark Industries and KAL are keen on capitalizing on this upward trend by offering innovative and sustainable electric mobility solutions to meet the rising demand for eco-friendly transportation options.
