Delhi Sees A Surge In Electric Vehicle Sales, Accounting For Nearly 15% Of All Vehicles Sold In March

According to data from the transport department, electric vehicles made up nearly 15% of all Delhi vehicles sold in March.

According to the transport department, 7,926 EVs, were sold in March. Four-wheelers accounted for 20% of the total sale and three-wheelers for 12%. Last month, 53,620 vehicles were registered.

According to the department, 1.12 lakh EVs were sold under the Delhi Electric Vehicle policy that was adopted by the AAP government in 2020.
Out of 48,728 registered vehicles, Delhi sold 5,268 electric vehicles in February. In January, 5,576 vehicles were also sold.

In August 2020, the Delhi EV Policy was launched with the goal of making Delhi the EV capital in India and accelerating EV adoption in all vehicle segments, particularly in the mass category of two-wheelers and public and shared transport vehicles and goods carriers.
