Bajaj Auto launches the 2023 Chetak Electric Scooter at a cost of Rs 1.52 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Numerous changes have been made to the design and features of the new EV. The new electric scooter will also be available for purchase alongside the current version, which will retail at Rs 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom). The price difference of Rs. 30,000 is justified by changes such as an increased range. The company is also expanding its supply chain for the EV.
The Premium Edition of the Chetak electric two-wheeler comes in three new colours including matte caribbean blue, matte coarse grey, and satin black. It also comes with a new LCD display. The product features include two-tone seating, satin-black grab rails, body-colored rear view mirrors, and matching pillion footrest castings. The centre trim components, including the blinkers and headlight housing are now available in Charcoal Black. These aesthetic changes have not affected the battery or motor.
The 2023 Bajaj Chetak’s electric scooter is powered by a 2.88-kWh battery pack. The electric scooter can travel 108km on a single charge thanks to this battery pack. According to the company, the actual range of the electric scooter can be reached in 90 kilometers on one charge. This scooter has a power output of 4.2 kW and a peak torque output of 20 Nm.
The Bajaj Chetak has sold 38,771 units from its inception to the end of January 2023. The bookings for 2023 Bajaj Chetak are now open. Deliveries are expected to start around April.
