Amara Raja Batteries To Set Up Lithium-Ion Battery Facility In Telangana
Amara Raja Batteries is a top industrial and automotive battery maker company. The government of Telangana signed an agreement with the company to establish state-of-the-art research as well as manufacturing facilities for lithium-ion battery-making in the Mahbubnagar district of the state. After obtaining all necessary approvals, the company plans to invest more than Rs 9,500 crore into the unit in the next 10 years. Amara Raja, in its latest effort to be an ‘energy- and mobility’ enterprise has chosen Telangana as the location for its Amara Raja Giga Corridor.
Zen Mobility Unveils Its First Range Of Light Electric Vehicles
Zen Mobility has unveiled its first range of mobility solutions. These include a four-wheeler LEV that can be used for multiple purposes called the Zen Maxi Pod’, and a cargo-built LEV called Zen Micro Pod. Recently, the company received the ARAI Certificate for Conformity for Zen Micro Pod. The Zen Maxi Pod and Zen Micro Pod were designed using best-in-class technology and design. They offer comfort, convenience and a greater range. The Micro Pod is a solution to long-standing issues of riders and delivery partners in Last Mile Delivery. Zen Mobility also plans to launch a multi-purpose, new-age ‘Maxi Pod’ within the next few years.
BGauss Partners With GoZap To Offer EVs To Food And Vegetable Delivery Agents
BGauss Auto Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of electric scooters, announced that it has partnered up with GoZap (a subsidiary of GoFuel) to offer electric vehicles to food and vegetable delivery employees. According to a press release, 50 electric scooters will be given to private delivery companies that deliver food and vegetable to consumers in the initial phase of the launch. Hemant Kabra, founder and managing director of BGauss Auto Pvt Ltd stated that the goal is to create world-class electronic scooters while protecting the environment. GoFuel has promoted GoZap as an electric vehicle rental company. Muthuraman, chief technology officer at GoZap, stated that the company had planned to expand the project beyond Tamil Nadu after it was launched in Tamil Nadu.
BEST To Launch 50 Double-Decker Electric Buses Starting January 14, 2023
The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport, BEST, will launch 50 double-decker electric buses in a staggered manner starting January 14, 2023. The buses will likely start operating from Makar Sankranti. Lokesh Chandra (General Manager of BEST) stated that while we were supposed to introduce double-decker electric buses in September but this was delayed by certification from the Automotive Research Association of India. Chandra stated that the first 10 of these buses would be available for purchase on January 14.

Perpetuity Capital, an NBFC focused on financing clean tech mobility, has entered into an agreement to finance electric 3-wheeler cargo vehicles manufactured by 3ev Industries that will be owned and operated by 3eco Systems for last-mile logistics. “We are witnessing a growing demand for electric commercial vehicles for the last mile and e-commerce logistics due to environmental and cost-related reasons. We expect more transactions like this in the future,” says Mohit Dujari of Perpetuity Capital. 3ev Industries, founded in 2019 in Bengaluru, manufactures the largest range of category L5 3W EVs including Passenger (L5M), Cargo vehicles (L5N), ICE-EV conversions, all ICAT, ARAI Certified & RTO registered.
West Bengal To Install 1000 EV Charging Stations In The Next 2 Years
An official from West Bengal said that the government intends to install 1000 EV charging stations in the next 2 years in order to promote greater adoption of ecofriendly automobiles. S Suresh Kumar, the Power secretary, stated that people aren’t buying EVs due to high costs and lack of charging infrastructure. We have partnered up with a private agency in order to bring the EV Expo to Kolkata. This will help clear up confusion. Kumar stated that he hopes to establish 1000 charging stations within the next 2 years. He also announced that the 16th EV EXPO, as well as an EV Rally, will be held in Kolkata this week.
HEID And BMRCL Announce To Start Operation Of Battery Swap Service At BMRCL Metro Stations
Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited (HEID), Honda Motor Co., Ltd.’s subsidiary for battery swap service, and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of Government India and Government of Karnataka, announced of Honda e:swap services on 7th December 2022, which is operated by HEID at the BMRCL Metro stations. In November 2021, HEID was established to begin battery swap service in India starting with electric auto rickshaws.
Maharashtra Allows Individual EV Owners To Install Charging Points Within Building Premises
The Maharashtra government issues a notification that allows individual owners of electric vehicles to install charging points in their buildings. The notification stated that anyone who wants to install an EV charge station is allowed to do so as long as it is not a licensed activity. The order stated that a NOC should be issued by the RWA or housing society to any EV owner who wishes to install a charging station within their building. This is provided that the charger’s installation follows the Safety Advisory for EV Charging Stations in Maharashtra, issued by the Government of Maharashtra (the Chief Electrical Inspector).
