Matter, an electric vehicle and energy storage startup, unveiled a geared electric motorcycle. Sales of this motorcycle will begin next year. The Ahmedabad-based firm plans to begin bookings for the model and start deliveries in April next year. In the next 12 months, 200 dealers will be open in major cities. The startup also plans to export its products to Latin America, Africa, and Asia in the next 2 years. Mohal Lalbhai, founder and CEO of Matter Group, said that the company intends to fill a void with other players who primarily concentrate on electric scooters. “India rides on bikes. Bikes account for 1.4 to 1.5 crore of the 2 crore two-wheelers that are sold annually in India. How will the change happen towards electric if we continue to focus only on the scooter segment? He stated that this is why we decided to get a geared electric bicycle.
Ather Energy To Set Up 150 Fast-Charging Grids In Tamil Nadu
Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, said that it has plans to establish 150 fast-charging grids within Tamil Nadu before the end of this financial year. In an effort to increase its retail presence in the state, the company has recently opened its first experience center in Salem. Ather Energy now has nine retail outlets in Tamil Nadu. According to a statement from the company, “There are plans for expanding its retail footprint to 15 stores and adding 150 fast-charging grids to the state by end of the current financial year.”

Vajram Electric raises $1.5 Million in a seed round of funding led by Nikul Gala & family. This was in addition to their marquee HNIs including Cyprian D’mello and Anil Basa. Vajram Electric, a 100%-owned subsidiary of eBikeGo, was created to fulfill the former’s manufacturing needs. Dr. Irfan Khan is the founder and CEO of eBikeGo. He noted that Vajram Electric has a plan to create an electric two-wheeler powertrain that will allow multiple vehicle configurations. Ultraviolette Automotive Receives Funding From Lingotto And Qualcomm Ventures
Ultraviolette Automotive, an electric bike manufacturer has received undisclosed investments from Lingotto and Qualcomm Ventures for business expansion in India and overseas. It stated that the Series D round funding would allow the Bengaluru-based company to improve its technology. After taking pre-orders from October 23, the company will launch the Ultraviolette F77 motorcycle. The first batch of bikes will be delivered in Bengaluru. “As we count down to the Indian commercial launch of F77, this investment is a testament to the fact we have been in a position to create an identity for Ultraviolette,” stated Narayan Subramaniam (co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette).
iVooMi Energy Launches New Variants Of S1 Electric Scooters In India
iVOOMi Energy, an EV company has launched new electric scooters in India for its model S1 and it is faster than ever. It includes S1 80, S1 100, and S1 240 variants. According to an official report, the S1 high-speed electric scooters will retail at Rs 69,999 and go up to Rs 1,21,000. It will be available in three colors – Night Maroon, Peacock Blue, and Dusky Black. Sunil Bansal (MD and Co-founder of IVOOMi Energy) said, “In our S1 series, our prime focus was to match the ergonomics of the Indian riders to the best possible standards and create a marvel that would usher everyone towards the adoption of e-vehicles.” The S1 240 electric scooter has a range of 220 km and a twin battery pack that holds 4.2 kWh. It is also powered by a 2.5-kW motor to provide additional torque.

Quiklyz, the vehicle leasing and subscription business of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited (Mahindra Finance/ MMFSL), has signed MOUs with prominent Last Mile Mobility players for leasing over 1000 electric 3-wheelers (3W). Quiklyz plans to deliver these leased vehicles over the next six months, spread across India deliveries, opening up newer opportunities in EV leasing. The MOUs have been signed up with Mahindra Logistics Limited, MoEVing Urban Technologies Pvt Ltd., Creativity at Best Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Magenta EV Solutions Pvt Ltd. and, Terrago Logistics Pvt Ltd. The signing was done on the sidelines of the launch of Mahindra Electric’s Zor Grand in Bengaluru recently.
Ather Energy Inaugurates Its Second Plant In Hosur
According to Swapnil Jain, co-founder of Ather Energy, the company is working quickly to locate a third manufacturing facility. The plant will be operational by the end of the next fiscal to meet growing demand. The startup, which sells two electric scooters, the 450X and 450 Plus, expects to use its entire current production capacity in Hosur (Tamil Nadu), by the next fiscal end. Although operations began in October, Ather officially inaugurated the second plant in Hosur. Two separate manufacturing facilities are now available at the company in Hosur for producing batteries and vehicles.
Statiq And Nexus Malls Partners To Install EV Chargers Across India
Statiq and Nexus Malls have teamed up to install EV chargers on the parking lots of all 17 of their malls in India. According to the company, each of these charging stations in mall parking lots will provide a combination of slow and fast chargers, so users can quickly charge their two-, three, and four-wheeler electric vehicles. Statiq intends to have an Indian EV charging network of 20,000 by the end of this year. Statiq has opened numerous charging stations over the past year to strengthen its network.
