LML eMotion, a revived brand of two-wheelers, was purchased by SG Corporate Mobility in August last year. It is now ready to return to the Indian market.
The concept versions of the upcoming electric two-wheeler models were unveiled by the manufacturer – the Star (Electric Scooter), Moonshot (electric hyperbike), and Orion (electric bike).
Although electric vehicle penetration has increased in the country over the past few years, particularly in the two-wheeler segment of the market, there are still many challenges to the transition to electric mobility. These include thermal runaways of batteries, a lack of strong charging infrastructure, range anxiety, and other issues.
Yogesh Bhatia, MD, LML eMotion said, “We’re making our return with three electric-vehicle products. However, for the Orion bike, which is our first product, we’re targeting the US and European market initially,”
“The other two products, the electric scooter and the electric hyperbike will be launched in India in the latter half of FY2023.”
LML recently signed a manufacturing contract with Saera Electric Auto, an EV manufacturer. This allowed LML to use its Bawal, Haryana plant of Saera. It can produce 18,000 units per month.
