Blink Charging Co. a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, and Veris Residential, Inc a forward-thinking, environmentally and socially conscious REIT that primarily owns, operates, acquires, and develops Class A multifamily properties, recently announced the deployment of 24 of Blink’s EV charging ports at Veris Residential’s newly-built, sustainability-focused, luxury apartment high-rise Haus25, located at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City, NJ.
Brendan Jones, president of Blink Charging, stated that “most EV drivers want their EVs to be able charge where they live” and added that Veris Residential was helping them achieve this goal. We are grateful to Veris Residential for providing a valuable service and look forward to continuing our relationship to bring more EV charging stations at other Veris residential sites.
As the only complete, end-to-end global EV charging provider, delivering advanced technology solutions for all EV customers–including consumers, fleets, businesses, retailers, developers, and municipalities–Blink’s unique owner-operator model provides customers and partners with industry-leading charging stations for every location and a 360-degree solution that they can rely on in a rapidly evolving market. Veris Residential has partnered with Blink in order to provide Haus25 residents access to EV charging points. This is Veris Residential’s support of its mission to be a responsible, sustainable and inclusive member of the built environment.
“Veris Residential is thrilled to cooperate with Blink, an innovative provider of fast and effective EV charging solutions, as we continue to redefine environmentally-friendly living,” said Karen Cusmano, Senior Vice President, Head of Sustainability and ESG at Veris Residential. We are one step closer in achieving our goal to increase EV charging capacity for our residents by partnering with Blink as the first U.S.-based real estate company to sign Climate Group’s EV100 initiative, the VP added.
Studies have shown that EV charging takes place at home up to 85%. However, only a few apartments and condos offer such access. Blink hopes to fulfill the needs of EV drivers and help the U.S. achieve its decarbonization goals. Blink offers the best flexibility in the industry and allows customers to reach their goals by providing personalized and strategic business models that allow them to own, partner with, or host their charging infrastructure.
Blink installed 12 IQ200 dual chargers at Haus25 to provide 24 charging points for residents and visitors. The Blink IQ200 AC charging station, which is the fastest available at Level 2, provides 80 amps of power that can provide 65 miles per hour. It is compatible with all battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Haus25 will receive yet another top-of-the-line amenity when it is fully implemented. Haus25 will meet the environmental conscious lifestyle requirements of today’s residents and also meet the standards to earn LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Haus25 also features SOURCE hydropanels that harness solar technology to heat the air. WaterSense-labeled fixtures maximize water flow efficiency. Bioretention swales collect runoff water from the soil and then percolate it to the ground. Energy efficient power units convert natural gas into electricity, heat, and provide on-site generation. The building is smoke-free and features enhanced indoor air quality. It also has more than 37,000 sq. feet of outdoor and garden space. Residents have access to Logical Building’s app, which shares real-time energy consumption and carbon footprint data to improve efficiency.
INF Associates, a turnkey EVSE installation company and energy consultant, collaborated with Veris Residential to install the IQ 200 chargers. Veris Residential received incentives through PSE&G’s Clean Energy Future – Electric Vehicles (EV) Program and New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ MUD grants. This funding was crucial in the development of an EVSE strategy that would benefit Haus25 and its residents.
