With the debut of its first model on the domestic market, Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer will be able to venture into the electric segment.
The company stated in a regulatory filing that “a new age of mobility is about to start” referring to an event that will be held under the Vida brand on October 7, 2022.
Two-wheeler giant has sent invites to investors, dealers and global distributors for the Jaipur, Rajasthan event. According to industry sources, the company will unveil its first EV product during the event.
Hero MotoCorp announced in March that it had raised USD 100 million to support over 10,000 entrepreneurs working on ESG solutions. This includes its upcoming electric vehicles.
Two-wheeler manufacturer Vida plans to launch new mobility solutions under its brand.
Sources claim that the company developed the product at Jaipur’s R&D centre, the Centre of Innovation and Technology. The company will use its Chittor-based manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh for the rollout of the product.
